SWIM TANK AQUA TOTS OWNERS

Aqua Tots Westchester is owned and operated by Aileen Crampton Bucciero and Fiona Crampton Kearney.  Aqua Tots was founded, over 35 years ago, by Patti Marano.  In 1992, while in college, Aileen met Patti and was introduced to the Aqua Tots swim program.  She instantly knew this was a unique children's program and she wanted to be a part of it someday.

In 1996 Aileen began working at Aqua Tots, and for the next 5 years Patti mentored her.  During those years Patti passed along her vast knowledge on how to teach swimming to infants, toddlers, and young children.  She demonstrated the importance and value of training staff correctly.   She stressed the need for trust and 1:2 teacher to student ratios for all young or scared non-swimmers.

In 2001 when Patti retired she sold the business to Aileen, knowing that she would remain true to the fundamental principals of Aqua Tots.  Fiona had also worked for Patti and had been trained by her, during her college years.  Upon her graduation in 2001 Fiona joined Aileen, full time, at Aqua Tots and in 2002 they became partners.

Together, Aileen and Fiona have opened the facility at West Red Oak Lane and almost tripled the size of the program.  They refuse to overcrowd classes and have continued the 2:1 ratio for non-swimmers in 30 minute classes.  Aileen and Fiona don't just run the day-to day operations of Aqua Tots; they teach, design all the classes, and personally train every instructor. They have remained devoted to running the highest quality, progressive, learn to swim program in the area.

Being a lifeguard qualifies you to save lives, NOT to teach swimming! Aqua Tots instructors are chosen for their passion and ability to work with young children. They each receive a minimum of 50 hours of training in our Ready-Set-Swim curriculum. Every instructor is monitored weekly, if not daily, to ensure program consistency. Training is continual, and instructors are required to attend frequent in-house workshops where new and exciting techniques are continually being designed. Our instructors as of January 2013 are:
