PHILOSOPHY

As an organization, we believe that learning to swim is a "life skill" that every child should know. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have stated that: "drowning is the 2nd leading cause of injury death (after motor vehicle crashes) among children ages 1-14". Our goal is to teach children, as young as possible, to be safe and competent in and around the water. Aqua Tots Westchester is committed to providing our clients with the most unique and effective "learn to swim" program in the area. We want to instill a "love of swimming" while at the same time, teaching all of our students to respect the water.

Method

Our methods are based on the notion that all children need to learn how to swim and that children are often afraid of what they don't know. For most children, learning to swim is a physical and a mental process. Trust and consistency are the most important components of our method. Children must be able to trust their instructors if they are going to learn. We build that trust by being honest, consistent, repetitive, and by having fun with every child. We adhere to strict student: teacher ratios for each swim level in order to ensure the highest quality and safety.
